OWNER STORY
Owner Toni Ann Rust is an artist and Zumba instructor. In 1974, she and her husband bought the historic building to the south of the Flutter In where they created a residence for themselves, an art gallery, artist’s studio, and Tweets Cafe, which is now owned by neighbors, Charles Atkinson and David Blakesley. Over the years their entrepreneurial spirit led them to experiment with businesses such as The Heavenly Worm Farm and The King Kong Destruction Company. In 1988, they opened the popular Edison Eye Gallery exhibiting fine art for sale by local artists. Although the gallery hosted its last event in 2015, the Edison Eye Building continues to be a venue for the arts community with art exhibits at i.e.edison owned by Margy Lavelle.
